This specially formulated food mixture was originally developed for hummingbirds, but it is also excellent for other nectar-eating birds such as sunbirds, honeycreepers, bananaquits, flower piercers, and butterflies.

The formula is packed with the essential nutrients and active ingredients these birds require for optimal health. The carbohydrates in NEKTAR-PLUS mimic the natural nectar found in flowers, providing a vital source of energy. It is also enriched with a balanced blend of vitamins, proteins, fats, and trace elements to support the overall well-being of these nectar-feeding species.

To ensure the food stays fresh and accessible, we recommend using our brown Plexiglas drinking tube, which is UV-protected. This tube has a sloping bottom, allowing the birds to consume the last bit of the mixture. A serving of 40 ml is sufficient to meet the daily nutritional needs of even larger species. It is crucial never to use open food bowls, as they can cause the birds to soil their feathers.
