NEKTAR-PLUS: Complete Feed for Hummingbirds, Sunbirds, and Butterflies

NEKTON-Nektar-Plus is a specially designed food mixture originally developed for hummingbirds and other nectar-eating birds. The formula is packed with a balanced blend of nutrients and active ingredients essential for their optimal health and wellbeing. The carbohydrates in NEKTON-Nektar-Plus mimic the natural nectar found in flowers, providing a vital source of energy for these species.

This food mixture is also enriched with a comprehensive range of vitamins, proteins, fats, and trace elements to create a complete and balanced diet. It supports the overall vitality and activity levels of hummingbirds, sunbirds, honeycreepers, bananaquits, flower piercers, and even butterflies, as they all share a preference for nectar as their primary food source.

To ensure the food remains fresh and accessible for the birds, NEKTON recommends using their brown Plexiglas drinking tube, which is UV-protected. This keeps the nectar mixture fresh for 12-18 hours and features a sloping bottom design to allow the birds to consume the last bit of food thoroughly. A 40ml serving is sufficient to meet the daily nutritional needs of even larger nectar-feeding species.

It's crucial to avoid using open food bowls, as they can cause the birds to soil their delicate feathers. NEKTON-Nektar-Plus is designed to be a clean and efficient feeding solution for these precious animals.

For hummingbirds, the recommended preparation is 13g of NEKTAR-PLUS (the amount in the included measuring spoon) per 100ml of treated, lukewarm water at 25°C (86°F). For lorikeets, the ratio is 16g of NEKTAR-PLUS per 100ml of lukewarm water.

NEKTON-Nektar-Plus should be stored in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight, between 15-25°C (59-77°F). Refrigeration is not recommended.

The comprehensive nutritional profile of NEKTAR-PLUS includes dextrose, fructose, sucrose, soy protein isolate, bee pollen, and a range of essential vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. It contains 18 amino acids and has a crude protein content of 2.9%, crude fat of at least 0.3%, and a maximum of 0.1% crude fiber and 5% moisture.
