"The Other Side" is the 2020 studio album by the legendary band Nektar. Throughout the 1970s, Nektar, the British band based in Germany, released a series of acclaimed albums, scoring chart success in their home country and later in the USA, where the band eventually relocated.

Following the passing of original guitarist and vocalist Roye Albrighton in 2016, fellow founder members Derek "Mo" Moore (bass, vocals), Ron Howden (drums, vocals), and Mick Brockett (lyrics, visual conceptions) reunited with Randy Dembo (bass, 12-string guitar), Ryche Chlanda (guitar, vocals), and Kendall Scott (keyboards) to begin work on a new album.

Ryche Chlanda had previously recorded with Nektar in 1978, and for "The Other Side," the band updated some of those ideas, which evolved in the basement of Mo Moore's house in Chatham, New Jersey. Ron Howden, Mo, and Ryche collaborated on much of the music heard on the album.

The 1978 unrecorded song "Skypilot" has evolved into "Skywriter" in 2020, showcasing the band's continued creativity and evolution. The album's blend of progressive rock, psychedelic influences, and the band's signature sound has been well-received by fans and critics alike, solidifying Nektar's enduring legacy in the world of music.

The Other Side marks a triumphant return for Nektar, as the band continues to push the boundaries of their sound and explore new creative avenues. With the addition of new members and the incorporation of past ideas, the album offers a fresh and captivating experience for both long-time fans and newcomers to the Nektar universe. The band's unwavering commitment to their craft and their ability to adapt and evolve over the decades have undoubtedly contributed to their continued success and relevance in the ever-changing landscape of music.
